About the event
Nine Elms Lane is in a designated regeneration area with approximately 40 major development sites aimed at building 20,000 new homes and creating 25,000 new jobs by 2030. The works being carried out on behalf of Transport for London extend for approximately 1km along Nine Elms Lane between the Vauxhall Gyratory and Battersea Power Station. Work on-site has been underway since May of 2025 and is due to complete in Autumn 2026
These works are intended to improve conditions for residents and visitors either walking, cycling or using public transport along to Nine Elms Lane.
Works include building a new segregated east and westbound cycle lane, improvements to pedestrian facilities, including wider pavements and improved pedestrian crossing facilities, new bus stops and shelters, new street furniture including cycle stands and benches, the planting of additonal trees, improved street lighting, and the resurfacing of the roads and pavements. Additionally to improve safety along the corridor the introduction of a 20mph speed limit between the Vauxhall Gyratory and Macduff Road.
Activities
Visitors will be given a presentation on Taylor Woodrow, covering the type of civil engineering projects we undertake and the various careers available within a firm like ours. We’ll then give a detailed briefing on the Nine Elms Lane project. This will be followed with a guided walk along the extent of the scheme. As the works are taking place along a public space full PPE will not be required.
