Galliford Try is offering workplace safaris at their Olive Primary School site in Bolton.
The £12.5m project, commissioned by the Department for Education, is the building of a part two-, part three-storey school with capacity for 420 students. The building consists of two reception classes, four infant classes, eight junior classes, a library, multipurpose hall, and a studio.
The project duration is 56 weeks, with completion in summer 2026. During Open Doors, visitors will see a range of trades in action, including plumbing, electrics, painting and decorating, joinery, and bricklaying.
Bookings are managed directly by Galliford Try, prioritising local secondary schools. Please contact hannah.williams2@gallifordtry.co.uk for more information.
All visits are for a group of up to 10 students plus teaching staff to visit their Olive Primary School Site on Monday 23rd March.
Each 1hr visit will include a behind the scenes tour of a live construction site (hard hats and PPE will be provided) as well as a look at some of the career opportunities available in construction including some of the less obvious roles in design, planning and pre-con teams and some myth busting.
