About the event

This project involves the refurbishment of the existing Grade 1 listed Tate Liverpool with works encompassing all areas of the building including galleries and public spaces, staff rooms, kitchens and plant spaces.

Works comprise of major structural alterations including breaking out floor sections, installation of new structural beams and columns, repainting, renewal of flooring and finishes and targeted repairs. Further works include removal of all existing services and plant to facilitate a full MEP upgrade.

Activities

This will be an on-site visit which will involve:

  • A company overview
  • A project overview
  • Short talks from various team members explaining their roles (e.g. Contracts Manager, Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Design Manager, etc.)
  • A supervised site tour

During the visit, we will discuss careers in construction and how best to access these career pathways.

Educational Visits:
Visits limited to educational institutions only.

Minimum age: 15 years old
Given the nature of the construction site and hazards, we have limited this event to those at secondary school age and up. This also focuses on those who are considering their careers in the near future.
