About the event
The scheme is the Re-provision of Inpatient Services in East Sussex (RIS:ES), to replace the existing services in the department of Psychiatry in Eastbourne. It is a new 54-bed acute in-patient mental health hospital comprising of 3 Wards supported by therapy and staff education facilities
The construction involves the re-landscaping of the site, installation of below ground services, creation of a one and two storey concrete and steel frame structure clad in a mix of glazed windows, brickwork, rainscreen cladding, with pitched and flat rooves. The interior will be fitted out and finished to Hospital Standards, serviced by Air Source Heat pumps, Solar Panels and associated plant in enclosures. The surrounding grounds will be finished with a mix of fencing and hard and soft landscaping.
Activities
At the time of the visit, the steel frame, facade forming, roofing, brickwork, concrete and groundworks will be underway.
