About the event

ST ANN’S R.C. PRIMARY SCHOOL, STRETFORD, MANCHESTER ,M32 8SH

Commissioned by the Department of Education, St Ann’s R.C. Primary School is the first Net Zero Carbon in Operation (NZCiO) school to be constructed in the North West.

Construction is now well underway on the new two-form entry school with a planned pupil capacity of 445, including 26 nursey places and 65 SEN pupils.

The project consists of two phases:
Phase 1: covers construction of the new building. We have opted to use a pre-cast concrete frame that supports the delivery of a Net Zero building by providing thermal mass.
Phase 2:  is for demolition of the pre-existing school and construction of new external areas for hard and soft play, and a MUGA. Due to the protected open space on the site, the new 2-storey school is being constructed between two existing school buildings, making site logistics and communication with the school of paramount importance.
