About the event
Our West Sussex HTMC depot features a fully operational plant yard housing a wide range of machinery used across the network, alongside specialised OTM equipment that supports safe traffic management and on‑site operations. Visitors will also see the workshop, where mechanical teams carry out essential maintenance and repairs, as well as the offices that act as the hub for planning, coordination, and project management. Together, these elements give a full picture of how the depot functions day‑to‑day to support major highways projects.
This site uses CSCS Smart Check – the only platform to verify all 2.1 million CSCS-logoed cards.
Activities
The visit will begin with an informative presentation delivered by the site team, offering an overview of the project’s progress as well as insights into the wide range of careers available within the industry. Attendees will be introduced to the different roles involved in delivering a major project, the skills required, and the various pathways into construction and infrastructure careers.
Following the presentation, guests will be taken on a guided tour of the working depot. This will provide a close-up look at day‑to‑day operations, equipment in use, and the teams responsible for keeping the site running safely and efficiently. The tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the working environment firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of how the project is delivered in practice.
