About the event
Wood Wharf, a high density, mixed use development which has been designed to maximise the potential of its unique waterfront location, establishing new connections to public transport networks, and build on the success of the Canary Wharf estate. The Wood Wharf estate creates a strong and complementary mix of uses, providing over 3600 new homes, nearly 2 million ft2 of high quality commercial office space, and a further 550,000 ft2 of shops, restaurants and community space.
Approximately one third complete (Phase 1 buildings). Phase 2 & 3 currently under construction.
This site uses CSCS Smart Check – the only platform to verify all 2.1 million CSCS-logoed cards.
Activities
An overview of the development starting from 20 Water Street (one of the Phase 1 completed commercial buildings) to incorporate a view of the whole site, of both construction and completed areas of the Wood Wharf Project.
A short presentation will be given incorporating an overview of Wood Wharf Development and highlighting careers within the construction industry. Time to take in the views, take some photographs and ask any questions.
Site tour of Wood Wharf to provide an insight into the practical delivery of construction and the careers within the built environment.
Staff working on Wood Wharf will be available to answer any questions regarding the Wood Wharf Development and construction techniques.
Full 5 point Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and is mandatory for all those who wish to go out on the site tour. Trousers must be worn on site (no skirts, dresses or shorts are allowed).

Minimum age: 14 years old
14+ when booked via schools and colleges (must be accompanied by staff).
Accessibility:Lift access to presentation area/viewing platform in 20 Water Street, disabled entrance (wheelchair accessible), including welfare facilities. Site Tour has limited accessibility, please contact if additional details are required.
