Why work here?
The Thermal insulation Industry is a niche section of the Construction industry and offers a trade and career pathway for life. It is a very well-paid occupation and can offer opportunities to travel the world. The industry has an ageing workforce with many people due to retire in the next 10-15 years and it’s more important than ever that this skills gap is filled, and new Apprentices are entering the industry.
The entrance point into the industry is via the Level 2 Apprenticeship and from this point a range of career progression and pathways are possible. Many Apprentices become Supervisors or move into other roles within the wider Construction industry e.g., Estimators, Health & Safety Inspectors, Contract Managers or even Business Owners.
All training is fully funded and completed via block release visits to the national training centre in Darlington and Apprentices benefit from state-of-the-art facilities and technology.
Because Thermal Insulation helps to ensure that pipework and ductwork is insulated correctly, this directly supports the race to Net Zero and has a positive impact on energy efficiency.
