The project involves the construction of a high-quality, flexible event space within the iconic Bury Market, designed to host a variety of activities and gatherings. At its heart is a striking double-height timber frame hall featuring a curtain walling façade, creating a modern and inviting atmosphere. Supporting this main space is a fully equipped back-of-house area, complete with toilets and storage facilities to ensure smooth operations.
The development also includes a two-storey section with a traditional masonry façade, housing first-floor meeting rooms and office space to provide versatile functionality for community and business use. Beyond the building itself, the scheme will deliver a new public realm area seamlessly integrated with the wider Bury town centre. This will feature improved signage, enhanced seating areas, and thoughtful landscaping to create a welcoming environment for visitors.
With a project value of £24 million, this transformative development is set to elevate Bury Market’s role as a cultural and social hub. Completion and handover are currently scheduled for July 2026, marking a significant milestone in the town’s regeneration journey.
