Dolphin Square, Phase 2

About the event

The second of three phases in the restoration, refresh and redevelopment of the prestigious 7.5-acre Pimlico Estate.  The phased restoration will modernise the 795,990 sqft 1930s-built development and provide over 1,200 high-quality private rental apartments with enhanced amenity space, leisure complex and common areas.

Having successfully completed Phase 1, Galliford Try has commenced the residential refresh of a further six estate houses, which covers 542 homes and spans nine storeys above ground with a single basement level.  Works include structural alterations and reconfiguration to allow optimisation of space internally and provide greater variation in apartment size, sensitive restorations and repair to the façade, replacement of 2,846 sash windows to deliver enhanced thermal performance, as well installation of new MEP, including air source heat pumps and PV panels.

The project has targets for BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold (striving for Platinum) certifications.  Where possible, several existing elements are to be retained and enhanced in the building, including all balustrades and many of the historic façade elements such as old signage, lighting and other decorative elements.

Construction works are taking place with careful consideration to residents, the community and operational businesses within the wider Dolphin Square Estate to ensure minimal disruption.
