About the event

The Heathrow Terminal 4 Central security area project involves the upgrade of HAL’s existing lane equipment to the latest technology of screening machinery as mandated by the department for transport. The project involves a complex reconfiguration of the terminals existing infrastructure to accommodate the new scanning machines, which are almost 1 third larger than the current technology. This involves demolition of a large quantity of plant and comm’s rooms, the decant of staff facilities, and the refurbishment of existing lifts facilitate the new passenger journey. Due to the complexity of the project this all must be done within a live operational environment whilst maintaining the passenger experience.
