About the event

HS2 Curzon Street will be the new terminus station for HS2 in Birmingham. When complete HS2 will reduce journey times between Birmingham and London to 49 minutes and will provide connections north towards destinations such as Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow. The station will be at the heart of transport connections in the city with the Midland Metro running underneath the platforms and adjacent to the proposed redevelopment of Moor Street station. It will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of Digbeth and Eastside quarters and will become a new gateway for the city.

When complete it will feature a great arched roof reminiscent of the great victorian stations such as London St Pancras.

Construction work started in January 2024 and the station will be complete in 2029. At this point the project is constructing the, almost 2,000 concrete piles which will support the building structure.

Activities

Visitors will be given an overview of the project from our offices within Millennium Point.

Visitors will then have the opportunity to get dressed in Personal Protective Equipment (provided) and visit the site, getting to see the work at close hand including the construction of our temporary site office and the work of the piling and sub-structure teams.
