About the event

Civco’s Public Realm Environmental Improvements scheme will be open to the public during the Build UK: Open Doors week to showcase the work that has been and will be carried out. This event will provide the opportunity to discuss the works and future opportunities within the industry with various professionals as well as apprentices and graduates in various roles across the company.

The event will give insight into the day-to-day activities of the site and the work and collaboration that goes into completing such a project. The event will be open to anyone aged 16 and over (5th Years and up), suitable for secondary school pupils looking at career opportunities/ Placements and Apprenticeships.

The event is also open to the public who would like to have a closer look of the work being done in their area or anyone that has an interest in the construction industry and is keen to learn.

Activities

The event, which will run for approximately an hour per session, is a great opportunity to see real site workings and learn from those newly in the industry as well as those with years of experience.

Visitors attending will be able to take part in a couple of different activities that will be carried out throughout the session. An interactive PowerPoint will be presented by people from the Civco staff, and a Q&A will be carried out, testing both our knowledge and your own. This will include site managers, engineers, and health and safety managers answering your questions. A final walk around the site will show the workers in full force and explain what each workman is doing, getting live working demonstrations, with the possibility of using Construction Technology onsite.
