About the event
The project will deliver a new build two-storey school on the playing fields located to the rear of the previous school. The old site, which was no longer fit for purpose, will be demolished to create a new school car park. The scheme also includes external landscaping and sports pitches to Sport England standard.
The new school will be Net Zero Carbon in operation, with a fabric first approach, utilising photovoltaic (PV) panels, a combination of natural and mechanical ventilation and air source heat pumps.
Activities
We will introduce students to all the career options available within the construction industry, as well as the early career placements we offer both before and after school or college. Students will be provided with all the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to safely explore a live construction site and gain firsthand experience.
During their visit, they will have the opportunity to meet our colleagues and supply chain partners to learn about their respective career paths.
This experience offers a comprehensive overview of the construction industry, highlighting various roles such as early career positions, trade jobs, office roles, and technical positions. It provides an excellent glimpse into the career opportunities available in the Midlands.
