About the event
The £220 million refurbishment project at the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil includes works on various departments, including: Pathology, Outpatients, Endoscopy, Maxillofacial, Oncology, Theatres, Radiology and Critical Care. Alongside these, we will be constructing large over the roof plant rooms to support these departments, and upgrading critical infrastructure and car parks.
The project aims to enhance patient care and improve the working conditions for staff by developing a more modern and efficient healthcare environment. We are currently in section 4 of 6 within phase 2, with approximately 70% of the project completed.
This site uses CSCS Smart Check – the only platform to verify all 2.1 million CSCS-logoed cards.
Activities
The event will begin with a brief introduction to Tilbury Douglas and the Prince Charles Hospital project, followed by a site safety briefing. Visitors will then have the chance to learn about career opportunities within the industry and participate in a Q&A session with senior members of staff. Afterwards, visitors will go behind the scenes of a live construction project, where they will be taken on a guided site tour.
