About the event

Construction of a new 27,000 sq m 6 storey (including basement and roof top plant rooms) inpatient facility and refurbishment of 4,500 sq m existing emergency department to create:

• a new Resuscitation suite, Majors, Minors, Urgent Treatment centre and Paediatric emergency departments including remodelling to provide administration support, public facilities and changing facilities
• entrance facilities, including café and waiting areas
• acute medicine department with short stay wards at ground floor (level 1)
• delivery suite, neonatal department, emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy assessment unit at first floor (level 2)
• children’s inpatient unit and maternity inpatient unit at second floor (level 3)
• critical care unit and oncology & Haematology inpatient ward at third floor (level 4)

Together with all associated infrastructure, hard/soft landscaping, modifications to existing roads and car parking to create drop offs, layby and ambulance reception areas and also relocation of helicopter landing pad to adjacent car park

There is no car parking available on site, but there is visitors carpark at Shrewsbury Hospital.
